Recording scheduled presentations

In addition to creating new presentations, you can use My Mediasite to access and record presentations that have been created using a schedule. Both missed and upcoming scheduled presentations are available to you under My Presentations in the navigation panel.

Scheduled presentations are typically recorded using hardware Recorders or Catch devices. However, from My Mediasite you are able to record scheduled presentations using Mediasite Desktop Recorder. This is useful in instances where you cannot record a scheduled presentation as you typically would, for example from the lecture hall, but want to make sure that your audience is able to get the content they expect.

You can only record missed and upcoming presentations for schedules that you have read and write permissions on.

What is a schedule?

A schedule is a collection of user-defined settings used to automate the recording and publishing process. Schedules are typically created by your Mediasite administrator or content manager and include the following information:

Presentation properties—basic details, folder, publishing and delivery options, player settings, security, and actions

Presentation naming convention (based on schedule name)

Recurrence settings—when and how often presentations are created

Recording device associated with schedule—Recorder or Catch device

Level of automation—how much of the recording and publishing process is automated

     Email notification details

Recording devices retrieve their schedules and create, record, and publish presentations using the settings and recurrence pattern defined in each schedule.
