Adding entitlements

Mediasite entitlements are roles that allow you to grant specific permissions to groups of user profiles. You will use entitlements to grant users access to specific portal operations and resources. Entitlements work like roles, in how they are created and used, with the key difference of being assigned to user profiles instead of groups or users.

Add entitlements

To add an entitlement:

1.  Click Security > Roles > Add New > Add Entitlement.

2.  Enter a display name and description (optional) to identify the entitlement role.

3.  Click Save. You can now assign permissions to the entitlement and add user profiles to it.

Add or remove user profiles from an entitlement

When you add a user profile to an entitlement, the user will inherit all permissions assigned to the entitlement. Once the user profile is removed, all permissions are revoked.

To add or remove user profiles from an existing entitlement:

1.  Click Security > Roles > (Name of the Entitlement) > User Profiles.

2.  Click Grant to open a search window which will allow you to find user profiles within the Mediasite system. Navigate to the profile you would like to add and click it.

3.  If you would like to remove a user profile from the entitlement, select the check-box next to a profile and click Revoke.

4.  Click Save.
