Quickly create rooms for devices

When you “create” a room, you are adding it based on a room configuration. In this scenario, the room configuration type determines what devices are added to rooms. For example, to add rooms with hardware Recorders, you would create rooms using a Recorder room configuration. All rooms created will inherit the templates associated with the room configuration and will be available to Record Now users.

When creating a room, you have the option of creating a room automatically or by importing an XML file. You can also export an XML file for a room and update it to create a new XML file that you can then use to create a new room.

If you select multiple devices, a room will be created for each one using the naming method you selected. Once the rooms are created, there are additional settings available, which allow you to add other devices to the room. For example, if you added a Recorder room, you can also add a Catch device available in the same location. Similarly, if you have a Catch-only room, you can add hardware Recorders to it.
