You can update the Recorder’s hosts file from the Network Settings page. The Recorder uses the hosts file to map hostnames to IP addresses. This feature is useful if you are operating the Recorder in a network that does not have a DNS server to do name resolution.
We recommend using this feature to update the hosts file instead of updating the file directly. The Recorder pushes changes you make on the Network Settings page down to the hosts file. However, changes made to the hosts file directly that do not follow the correct format are not pushed back up to the UI.
To update the HOSTS file:
1. Click Network Settings > Add HOSTS Entry.
2. Enter the IP address and host name. Optionally, add a comment you and other users can use to identify the device you are adding an entry for easily.
Add new HOSTS entry
3. Click Edit on the same row as an entry to update or delete it.
