In some instances, you may need to update your video and image source properties to display your source input correctly.
To update your image or video source’s properties:
1. Navigate to the Capture tab and click the Inputs.
2. Select a source from the Inputs list.
3. Under Source Properties, update the settings that apply:

Backlight Compensation |
Enable or disable backlight compensation for a dimly lit room. |
Black Level |
Adjust the level of brightness for when black displays. |
Brightness |
Adjust the amount or intensity of video light produced on a screen without regard to color. |
Color Enable |
Allow the camera to use color rather than black & white. |
Color Space |
Select the color domain settings (hue, saturation, intensity) for your video/image source: RGB, HDYPrPb, YPrPb, HDYCrCb, or YCrCb. Auto, which automatically detects the color domain setting of your video/image source, is the default setting and works for most inputs. However, in some instances, you may have to select a color domain setting manually from the list to display the input signal correctly. |
Contrast |
Adjust the ratio between the maximum and minimum brightness values. |
Exposure |
Adjust the amount of light the camera takes in. |
Focus |
Adjust the camera’s focus to manually fixate on a subject. Most cameras will have an autofocus option already enabled. |
Gain |
Adjust the video gain to brighten the image in low-light conditions. |
Gamma |
Adjust the camera’s luminance/color brightness. |
Horizontal Position |
Adjust the horizontal position of the picture. |
Hue |
Adjust the image’s color value or saturation. |
Iris |
Adjust the camera’s iris to take in more or less light. |
Pan |
Move the camera’s view horizontally. |
Reset |
Click to return all source property settings to their default values. |
Saturation |
Adjust the intensity of the color. |
Sharpness |
Adjust the resolution and edge contrast of the image. |
Signal Type |
Select the signal type for your image/video input: Composite, S-Video, YPbPr (Component), HDMI, DVI-D, RGB (VGA). Select Auto to have the system automatically detect the signal type. |
Tilt |
Move the camera’s view vertically. |
Vertical Position |
Adjust the image’s vertical position. |
Video Standard |
Select the video standard your source device is using: NTSC, NTSC-Japan, PAL-BDGHI, PAL-M, PAL-N, or SECAM. The options available will vary by Recorder. |
White Balance |
Adjust the color temperature of the camera’s image. |
Zoom |
Zoom the camera towards or away from a subject. |
The settings available in the video/image source properties menu will vary by Recorder and input type. Some controls listed above may not be available on your Recorder.
