You will install the System Service software on a machine separate from Mediasite Video Platform. If the machine is within your organization’s firewall and you are using FTP for file storage, configure the firewall to allow passive FTP transmission between the service and Mediasite Video Platform.  We also recommend adding a firewall rule to allow outbound traffic to Sonic Foundry via SSL. System Service connects to the database server so if you are using Windows Integrated Security on the machine, additional configuration is required. For more information, see Firewall considerations.
