Mediasite Deliver

Before you begin installing and configuring Mediasite Deliver software on the server that will stream live and on-demand content to your audience, make sure all systems meet the requirements listed below.

General requirements

If you take advantage of multiple streaming technologies on a single server, make sure your server meets the requirements for all of them.

 

Hardware

      CPU: Intel Xeon Quad Core 2GHz or better

      RAM: 4GB or more

      RAID storage configuration and redundant power supplies (recommended)

Operating systems

Microsoft Windows Server: 2016 and 2019 (Standard and Datacenter)

Storage

Media server storage requirements will vary for each organization. When calculating your storage requirements, you want to take in account many factors including the number of streams, streaming technology, resolution, bitrate, and quality.

HTTP Live Streaming

      Microsoft Desktop Experience (feature installed using Windows Server Manager)

      Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8+

      Microsoft FTP Services or a third-party SFTP server (optional)

IP-Multicast (H.264; HLS-based)

 

      Java 7 or later

      Mediasite Multicast bundle (additional license needed)

Windows Server roles and features

To deliver content using HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), your servers require the following Windows Server roles and features. You will install these roles and features on your server(s) using Windows Server Manager.
