Reviewing recorded presentations

You can take recorded presentations located on your Mediasite through an iterative content approval (review-edit-approve) workflow before making them available to an audience. When a presentation is under review (pending changes or approval), the version containing the changes is offline. Offline presentations do not appear in search results or catalogs for users with only View permissions.

Your Mediasite administrators must enable the review-edit-approve workflow on your system before you can use the features described here. They must also specify approvers who can approve and deny presentation updates.

Review-edit-approve status

There are three states in the review workflow: Review Required, Edits Required, and Approved.

Status

Details

Review Required

Editing a presentation's video and slides with the web-based Editor will put a presentation in the "Review Required" state. If you are a reviewer, any presentation with this status is listed in the Review Required view.

The following updates, made by a Mediasite administrator or system, will also put the presentation in the "Review Required" state:

Publishing from the Recorder or Mediasite Desktop Recorder

      Uploading video manually

      Adding additional media types*

      Adding podcasting (audio or video)

      Adding captioning

Edits Required

Denying the changes made to a presentation will change its state from "Review Required" to "Edits Required".

Approved

Approving the changes made to a presentation will change its state from "Review Required" to "Approved". If you have any presentations that other users can approve and changes you have made are rejected, the presentations will be listed in the Edits Required view for your review.
