Connect Monitor to your Mediasite Video Platform server

When you add a connection to Mediasite you can specify default Recorder credentials and Monitor will automatically add any Recorders using these credentials that are connected to the server. You will only see Recorders for which you have the appropriate permissions.

In addition to Recorder permissions, you must also have Manage Auth Tickets operation permissions. For more information, contact your Mediasite administrator.

To add a Mediasite connection:

1. Click the Settings button to view the Monitor Settings panel.

2. Click the Add Mediasite Video Platform Server button and specify the following information:

Setting	Description
Server Name	Enter a friendly name for the server. It will appear in the Server drop-down menu.
Server URL	Enter the service root URL for the Mediasite Video Platform server, which includes the fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) or IP address and Mediasite name, for example: http://mediasiteserver.yourcompany.net/Mediasite
Username/Password	Enter your credentials.
Default Recorder Credentials	If your organization provides default credentials for Recorders, enter them. When you make the connection, these credentials will be used to connect to Recorders connected to the server. Additionally, these credentials will be added to the user account settings. Make sure to use administrator credentials, not operator credentials. If you do not know the administrator credentials, or have not set up your credentials yet and do not know the default credentials, contact your Mediasite administrator or our technical support experts on the Mediasite Customer Care Portal at www.sonicfoundry.com/support.

3. Click Save. Once the connection is made, the Recorder List will populate with Recorders.

Add new Mediasite Video Platform server connection

At any time you can update the server connectong settings or delete the connection by selecting it in the MVP Server drop-down list. You will remove a server connection by selecting it from the drop-down list and selecting Remove this MVP server at the bottom of the Edit MVP Server Connection page. Restart Mediasite Monitor to update the Recorder List.
