Update email settings

Update the email settings to change the email server and addresses used in Mediasite system. This feature is not available to Mediasite Video Cloud customers.

To update the email settings used by Mediasite:

1.  Click Settings > Server Settings> Email Settings and update as needed:

Email Server Address

The IP address or FQDN of the email server that will send emails in Mediasite system.

Email Server Port

The port Mediasite will use to communicate with the email server. The default port number is 25.

Default Email Address

The e-mail address that will be used by Mediasite to send e-mail alerts.

Administrator Email Address

The e-mail address of the person to whom e-mail will be sent when there is a problem scheduling a presentation on a Recorder.

Test Email

Enter an email address and click Send to verify you can send emails using the settings specified above.

Use email validation image for all catalogs

Select this check box to display a verification box when users attempt to send email invitations for a catalog. To prevent emails from being used for spam, users will have to enter the characters displayed before they can send an email invitation for a catalog. When this feature is enabled as part of the email settings, catalog owners cannot disable it.

Email presentation owner when private presentations are processed and ready to be viewed

When this feature is enabled on the site, users can opt into having notifications sent when server jobs for their presentations have been completed. Notifications will be sent for the following content: on-demand content (Smooth Streaming, MP4, and WMV), slide content on a slide stream, and generated slides on a video stream.

 

Email presentation owner when presentation processing has failed

When this feature is enabled on the site, users can opt into having notifications sent when server jobs for their presentations have failed due to an error.

Send email notification when presentation ownership changes

When this feature is enabled on the site and a presentation's ownership is changed, for example using the "copy to" feature or using the Change Owner application, an email is sent to the new presentation owner.

 

Send email notification when presentation "Copy to Folder" is initiated

When this feature is enabled on the site, users receive notifications when they copy their presentations to folders. Folder owners will also receive notifications. This email notification acts as a receipt of submission and includes the date and time of submission.

 

2.  Click Save at the top of the Server Settings page.

 

Email settings
