My Mediasite Mode

Details

Creator

This is the simplest mode and is typically assigned to students. Users with creator access to My Mediasite can perform basic presentation and channel management tasks. They can also share content with other Mediasite users.

Producer

Producer mode includes all the functionality of the Creator mode plus features that support publishing content to a wider audience.  Producers can change a video’s owner as well as share content to non-Mediasite users via email or by embedding it in external websites. This mode is typically assigned to instructors.

Publisher

Publisher mode includes all the functionality of the Producer mode. However, publishers can also update a video’s security settings.  This mode is typically assigned to users who need to publish content and have a strong understanding of how security is implemented in your organization.

Full

This mode gives the user access to all My Mediasite features.  This mode is typically assigned to administrators. However, access can still be limited by assigning permissions to resources and operations.

On upgrade, current My Mediasite users will have the My Mediasite Mode: Full operation. If you would like to limit existing users’ access, you will have to assign them the appropriate permission.
